Traditional midwives, one nurse midwife, and an Amish plaintiff went to Commonwealth Court on July 2, 2026 asking Pennsylvania to administer a 97-year-old certificate law it had let go dormant.
I birthed both of my children at home with a midwife. It was a beautiful and life-changing experience. It was so positive, I said I wasn't interested in having more kids if I couldn't do it from home. My second child was an 11 pound, 9 ounce baby, a big boy. Delivery was comfortable, caring and actually pretty easy with my midwife's care. No episiotomy, no tearing. I never would have been allowed to deliver naturally in a hospital carrying a baby that large, it would have been a C-section all the way. So I also feel passionately about our ability to deliver babies with midwives — birth the way we want it. No vaccines, no antibiotics, no stress, no strangers making our decisions while we carry out one of the most important actions of our lives...bringing a new life into the world. Moving away from this freedom is a horrible direction.
Women have to start by taking over the birthing process (and every other process I might add) because men should not be involved in it as they don't birth!
That's wonderful! Did you birth laying down or on your feet? I believe it is soooo important that mothers birth on their feet because the pressure of the baby's head against the pelvis softens the pelvis to make the canal easier for the baby to slide through. And less labor for the mother. Birthing laying down is sadistic but it's how Westerners do it. However indigenous mothers birth upright taking advantage of gravity, which makes perfect sense.
I birthed standing up, then a squatting position when it was time to push, which is likely why I could easily birth such a big baby. It was a fast labor that way, too. I never climbed in a bed or laid on my back, 4 hours start to finish. After that experience, I would never, ever lay on my back with my legs up in stirrups...the utterly stupid way it's done in the US hospitals. Let gravity do the work.
I did what I called the 'crab' position. Even whilst contracting when going along the hospital corridor in a wheel chair to get me to the delivery suite from the car my friends had organised ... and even as they drove me... I'd say STOP ....they would pull up at the roadside and I would turn around or get out and turn to face 'backwards, hold onto something and allow the powerful contraction to push my daughter down the birth canal by kind of opening up from a crouching or kneeling position arms stretched in front of me or holding onto something eg the wheelchair in the corridor with concerned people looking on but I would just wave and return to concentrating. The whole exercise needed massive concentration. Did you also find this?
The next law is you are only allowed to give birth in a qualified facilliated followed by you are not allowed in the facility unless you are vaccinated. As more great individuals keep writing about such astrocities it is becoming obvious the government is about profits and not about its citizens.
Big Pharma needs to rid our society of healthy Amish people.
I will and do. You're absolutely right. They need our support and what a great thing to take on. They are being systematically discriminated against and victimized. Grrr.
Thanks denise ... and for all your thoughtful comments. I would like to gather everyone's contributions into one place. With each piece that Sayer produces more people show interest. Wondering where the best spot might be that's easy for everyone. Maybe a new substack named Amish Support Group....?? Would I be able to copy all the contributions so far and then give folk notice of how to find it?
Thank you denise. Well yes I would love your help. Thank you. I can’t remember how I set up my own substack. It seemed to be by default from following Sayer. Is that likely? Anyway can you point me towards directions to set up a substack? And with your kind encouragement I will do that. Perhaps copying all the comments so far and then alerting the authors to the location (whilst asking for their consent, which, as its a copy and paste, might be assumed… but authors would be free to delete their contributions. I would hope each will feel pride in their comments, observations and offers of help. So thank you. YES I would be very grateful for your help and in fact won’t do this solo but join with others in the task which I’m happy to spearhead but its a collective action for the greater good in support of the Amish who are so vulnerable here. I also think that when we approach their bishop (info about this from Helen) I think it might be nice to share this as a booklet for the community to read as they don’t do internet
...and WE need a solid, preemptive, indisputable right to universal healthcare, funded entirely by THE RICH, who will no longer be able to profit from it by owning the entire privately-owned, for-profit cartel themselves--either the gov't has taken over the ownership of that cartel or because the gov't has sharply limited what the cartel gets to charge for its wares/services.
No please, don't expect anything from anyone but the people who think like you. We need to get our own gig going and not be dependent on these psychos.
That is definitely the wrong approach! There is no such thing as free healthcare where you also have FREE choice. Make healthcare competitive. Everyone pays the providers they want. No insurance cartel. Watch the cost get immediately affordable!
There IS free healthcare AND free choice about birthing in some countries...the UK & Switzerland, at least. (They just aren't free to live in KY next to a friendly Amish community.) US healthcare was competitive once, before the AMA formed...everyone who could afford to bought the healthcare they could afford, & everyone who couldn't, did w/out & took their chances; midwives tended to be available & affordable, but, modern emergency care didn't exist. Was your triple-bypass affordable, or did your insurance cover that?
My insurance covered it. But my Amish community self insure. If the family can’t afford to pay off the hospital bill, the community health war chest does it. Socialism delivered by government is the greatest evil ever foisted on humans. Community socialism by all members of a close knit community agreeing to participate is the greatest good. You can’t force that into being. It has to be voluntary which is why I say all of us could retain our freedom and constitutional rights AND take care of one another if all decisions were made locally and by encouraging people to work together is small well known groups.
“Socialism deliv’d by gov’t” is what every other wealthy (but not AS wealthy as the US) country has for healthcare, & they ALL have healthier, longer-lived populations, FAR higher %’s of moms & babies surviving birth, & FAR, FAR less poverty. That doesn’t sound terribly “evil” to me. They’re all capitalist countries—they just don’t allow their actual healthcare to be completely capitalist. Who is to say that a country isn’t merely a larger “community agreeing to participate”? (By setting up their own community’s “health war chest,” are the Amish “agreeing to participate” or merely making the best of a lousy situation? Would they OPPOSE having free healthcare that they actually want handed to them, for free, when they want it? Triple-bypass surgery, e.g., or, possibly, ambulance service. Maybe you should ask them sometime.)
They have always and would continue to decline government funds. It’s a slippery slope. Freedom of choice and freedom of religion go on the chopping block when socialism is codified. Only at the community level where everyone must 100% agree does it work toward the good. The rest of the time it becomes the tyranny of the few who happen to hold power. The idea that capitalism is the only good is also false. Raw competition for wealth with no other motive is also not good. Witness Big Pharma and the Covid vaccine scam. There is a moral backbone that exists in small communities especially of religious peoples that makes the capitalist “product” the primary focus and profit the incentive to do better. And not the other way around. Government Socialism takes choice away from individuals. That is a fatal mistake!
"Insurance" is not the only for-profit component of US "healthcare". The entire healthcare cartel is privately-owned, for private profit; the bits where some special groups get free care just have the gov't step in & pay what the cartel demands for those individuals. A very few states pay independent midwives to attend homebirths of Medicaid recipients....a couple even pay the entire bill.
Here’s a shock for you: I live as close neighbor to a large Amish community in Kentucky. I’m on the midwife “team”. I’m the emergency transportation if something goes wrong. Every birth has two or three “midwife” ladies show up (and usually the mother’s mother). We hang out for the duration. Most births are normal and babies healthy. A few hours after it’s all over I take the midwives home. Total cost $0.0. Zero. Nothing. It’s considered community service.
So...you just donate your time, gas, all other car-owning expenses out of the goodness of your heart? That's mighty neighborly of you--good thing you can afford to do that. What does the hospital charge if a baby or mom needs help, & who pays for that? Does Medicaid cover them?
The Amish do not use any government funds. They self pay. Around here there is a 75% discount if you pay cash within 72 hours. This is rather revealing to ACTUAL cost of healthcare vs insurance billed. As for me, yes I donate my time, vehicle and gas. But my neighbors help me too. In 2017 they built me a 4,000 sq ft shop. No charge. I estimated labor to be worth about $50,000. I’m still in their debt so to speak although you would never get them to say that.
Well, gosh, that's what all single-payer countries do, and THEY ALL have healthier, longer-lived populations at half OR LESS the cost. AND better birth outcomes, AND independent midwives run their primary maternity care. Some of them got rid of their insurance cartels; some of them merely force their insurance companies to pay 100% of healthcare bills, no questions asked, w/out being allowed to profit from healthcare insurance.... In most of those countries, mom pays NOTHING for maternity care, no matter what level of care is needed. In the Netherlands, it USED to be that moms gave birth w/ independent midwifes to assist, FOR FREE (midwives paid directly by the state), unless hospital care became necessary, of course; moms that opted to birth in hospitals absent medical need had to pay. (AND, the Netherlands gets far better birth outcomes than the US, w/ over 98% of US births taking place in hospitals.
They also ban about 1,000 ingredients from their food, they limit vaccines, and prohibit gmo ! So there’s a lot of common sense we could adopt. I’m okay with tax dollars paying for healthcare BUT it needs to go directly to patients who then get to choose the health care they want. Covid was the final straw for me proving that medicine has rolled down the wrong side of the hill.
Yep! BECAUSE their ppl have a preemptive right to healthcare, & their rich are getting taxed to pay for it, while their profits are limited by their gov't's, & the cheapest way to keep ppl healthy is to preserve their health. (Hence the independent midwives. Though midwives are far cheaper to train than OBs--& those countries TRAIN THEIR CLINICIANS! You don't have to pay anything to get fully trained in most of those countries!) Yes, some countries also got snookered into COVID; but they also had a lot fewer casualties....
I heartily disagree and feel we must definitely not go down the road of universal anything. It's a rather large dialogue to have but that is the gist of what we must do - stay as local as possible, and numerous (ie: widespread)
It certainly is a very large dialogue... and I'm loving it!! We founded universal healthcare here in the UK and its an important principle. I was well trained -for free - but its complex. It's a socialist principle (which simplified just means broadly caring for everyone) but that system was creamed off by Consultants who extracted wealthy paying patients. Those that could afford to pay short-circuited the system (we called it queue jumping) but still used the state provided facilities for their 'business' . It could be said however that the private payers also helped to pay for that infrastructure. Its something that needs to be analysed In terms of benefit and economics..... there were a lot of strong feelings about perceived abuses and about greed. Bit like the coffee coloured principle v the patchwork quilt. The quilt is so much more colouful and it can be stitched into a whole cover(!!!).
We already don’t have choice within our insurance based health care which is basically socialized medicine (Medicare, Medicare , etc). What makes you think socializing everything will improve that. Try living in a genuinely socialist country and see if you still like it. I’m not going to allow that to happen here.
Gee, it’s like thousands of years of childbirth common sense just got erased by a commie governor- who has never given birth. Surely this will be challenged. It’s medical dictatorship. Hope it goes all the way to SCOTUS
The Amish definitely have a bullseye on them and all because they are unvaccinated. It has stood out for so long, the system has tried its best to ignore it, then confuse the issue with questionable research and corporate media articles. But they could never quite put this issue to bed. So they will get them vaccinated and medicated one way or another. You realize of course that the Amish babies will be vaccinated even if there is no consent. The nurses will quickly and quietly give them their Hep B shot and other ones also. Then mysteriously the Amish children will slowly and surely develop all the chronic conditions that our vaccinated children have including autism. Then and only then will all government agencies and paid off researchers start doing population comparisons that are published in the medical journals.
I no longer live in PA...in WA. God is going to strike down ALL EVIL and it will, according to prophetic voices, more than likely occur prior to Christmas 2026.
I can’t wait… but God helps those who help themselves so may I ask as to what you could possibly do to further this? Would you consider joining an occupation???? Would you like to stay in touch? Very best to you and thank you so much for responding x
I had both my children at home with midwives attending, in 1979 and 1981, in the state of Texas. It was one of the best things I have ever done for myself and my babies!
The laws that protect home birth, homeschooling, religious and/or personal exemption to vaccinate are so fragile. We can NEVER, ever take them for granted.
Big Pharma-connected Shapiro should be impeached. What a rotten, ignorant being who would do this to the Amish in Pennsylvania. The Amish were far healthier than the average Pennsylvanians... More babies die on their first day of life in traditional hospitals in the united states than in Third World countries; most likely from the injections they receive.
Extremely likely. And your babies had to have something like 18 injections before 18 month? Is that correct. I understand RFK jnr has already reduced this ....and its going to go down. Right??? !!!!
It should be zero injections of toxic matter into children's bodies...which the bloodstream carries to the brain....causing brain damage. Wonder where all the crazy Americans are coming from! Its no wonder...the forced 70+ vaccines in order for children to go to school. it was not like this, when i was growing up. Only one vaccine was required in order to get into school at 4 years old for kindergarten..
If doctors knew anything about health, they would not use vaccines. They don't study nutrition, when 95% of health issues start with what is ingested or injected into the bloodstream. Whatever is in the bloodstream circulates throughout the body and the glands and organs are severely damaged by the toxic substances in vaccines. Vaccines contribute to brain damage. The vaccine manufacturers were going out of business in the 1980s, because of all of the multi-million dollar lawsuits against them for 'deadly and defective' vaccines, before our congress gave them The National Childhood Vaccine injury Act of 1986...taking away all their liability for injuries and deaths.
That immoral amnesty against law suits for vax damage needs fighting. Any strategies? Happy to support. I’m focusing on help for the Amish (there is a 21 day deadline to meet) and would love your thoughts and participation xx
I am into prayer...and will pray that the Amish are protected from the soulless Pharmaceutical Industry and their minion Governor Shapiro. MAGA and MAHA need to stop this Governor and his tyranny in its tracks now!
I cannot tell you how aggravating it is to hear that women let men dictate their birthing experience. It's bad enough having men tell women to birth laying down - sadism! For the mother AND the baby! But to be told how they can birth is none of their fn business. Women for goodness sake, stand in your station!
Josh Shapiro has not personally received direct cash payments or bribes from pharmaceutical companies, but his administration has facilitated over $5.5 billion in state-backed pharmaceutical and life-sciences investments since 2023, with approximately $300 million in direct state support (grants, tax credits, and subsidies).
Key financial interactions and investments under his administration include:
Sanofi Pasteur: Shapiro personally announced a $10.6 million RISE PA grant to Sanofi in June 2026 for emissions reduction at their Swiftwater vaccine manufacturing facility.
Johnson & Johnson (Janssen Biotech): His administration secured over $1 billion in private investment for a new cell therapy facility in Montgomery County, supported by up to $12 million in tax credits and a $15 million grant.
GlaxoSmithKline (GSK): The state provided $21 million in support for an $800 million vaccine-manufacturing expansion in Lancaster County.
Eli Lilly: The administration documented $3.5 billion in private investment from Lilly, largely in the Lehigh Valley.
Opioid Settlements: As Attorney General and Governor, Shapiro secured billions in settlements from pharmaceutical distributors (including J&J, Cardinal Health, McKesson, and AmerisourceBergen) for their role in the opioid epidemic, such as a $1 billion settlement in 2021 and a broader $50 billion national settlement announced in 2019.
While critics argue these financial ties create conflicts of interest, particularly regarding vaccine policy and public health communications, Shapiro’s own executive code of conduct requires disclosure of financial interests to prevent conflicts.
Excellent research and sourcing. However, I am of the mind that shapiro was SELECTED and NOT elected so EVERYTHING he supposedly signed into law WILL BE REVERSED; like it NEVER HAPPENED! This will happen NATION-WIDE because MANY of the 'governors' seats (among many other positions throughout the whole of federal, state and local governance) WERE STOLEN FROM THE VOTERS! The only question is WHEN the tide will turn...I expect it ANY DAY now and BEFORE the end of 2026! This is going to be EPIC!!!!!!
Government is such a waste of time. They destroy everything that is good and decent. Everything.
especially when the gov is run by corporations....this looks like a corporate hold on birthing, every step of the way!!!
If I could go a step further; it is DEMONIC!
...because it IS.
it is their talons sunk into every child from day one.
Hey, c'mon! Look at the wonderful stuff gov't does FOR THE RICH! In this case, for the owners of PA hospitals, & the bureaucrats who support them!
Everyone is funding this. Maybe even yourself. That's the bottom line!
I birthed both of my children at home with a midwife. It was a beautiful and life-changing experience. BEAUTIFUL realities! Thank you for your comments that are SO enlightening!
So lovely. I had 5 friends present with me during my daughter's birth I want this choice for every woman.
Women have to start by taking over the birthing process (and every other process I might add) because men should not be involved in it as they don't birth!
I agree 100%! No one knows what a woman giving birth needs like another woman who has been through it themselves! MAKE COMMON SENSE COMMON AGAIN!!!!!
Thanks Jer. You comment is very supportive and much appreciated. Thank you xxx And I agree also 100%….!!
That's wonderful! Did you birth laying down or on your feet? While I applaud the sentiment, revolutions are so messy...and don't necessarily attain the desired end, anyway. But here's my little effort to at least try to help normies to WTFU: https://diy.rootsaction.org/petitions/end-poverty-demand-a-ubi-equal-to-what-congress-pays-itself

They are 'TRYING' but THEY WILL FAIL! God has other plans and they do not include the evil ones being in control of ANYTHING for much longer.
Exactly join our campaign?
I no longer live in PA...in WA. God is going to strike down ALL EVIL and it will, according to prophetic voices, more than likely occur prior to Christmas 2026.
I can’t wait… but God helps those who help themselves so may I ask as to what you could possibly do to further this? Would you consider joining an occupation???? Would you like to stay in touch? Very best to you and thank you so much for responding x
Please pass this information on to the world! 🙏
Join us in resisting on behalf of the Amish?
I had both my children at home with midwives attending, in 1979 and 1981, in the state of Texas. It was one of the best things I have ever done for myself and my babies!
The laws that protect home birth, homeschooling, religious and/or personal exemption to vaccinate are so fragile. We can NEVER, ever take them for granted.
😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬
It should be zero injections. Agreed.
Anyone happen to know the stats on early years obligate injections USA?
Agreed.
Women for goodness sake, stand in your station!
we’re too busy trying to be equal while losing out on our natural
born god given birth rights. it’s wild..
This is an outrage. A birth attender handcuffed at a Police station.....???? I am furious. How dare they. Midwifery trained nurse here,
Josh Shapiro has not personally received direct cash payments or bribes from pharmaceutical companies, but his administration has facilitated over $5.5 billion in state-backed pharmaceutical and life-sciences investments since 2023, with approximately $300 million in direct state support (grants, tax credits, and subsidies).
While critics argue these financial ties create conflicts of interest, particularly regarding vaccine policy and public health communications, Shapiro’s own executive code of conduct requires disclosure of financial interests to prevent conflicts.
fuck josh shapiro
Is this hidden as unverified info or because of the F word? Maybe try again without the curse????
Excellent research and sourcing. However, I am of the mind that shapiro was SELECTED and NOT elected so EVERYTHING he supposedly signed into law WILL BE REVERSED; like it NEVER HAPPENED! This will happen NATION-WIDE because MANY of the 'governors' seats (among many other positions throughout the whole of federal, state and local governance) WERE STOLEN FROM THE VOTERS! The only question is WHEN the tide will turn...I expect it ANY DAY now and BEFORE the end of 2026! This is going to be EPIC!!!!!!
