In my teens and married life i fought the Battle of the Bulge for years. It was impossible to lose weight, because i knew nothing about nutrition. Today, I weigh 105- 107 pounds without using any kind of drugs, because i learned how to eat as human beings were designed to eat...natural foods. The moment, I would eat a slice of bread, i gained weight. I gave up all grains in 1986, when i got arthritis..I learned over time that by eliminating many of the touted 'good' foods - my health improved. I am healthier and more active at 92 than I was at 30. Natural unprocessed food that does not come with a label is the only way to live a longer and healthier life.. This is what mankind lived on for eons of time.
If one had to identify one major cause of insulin resistance and heart disease it would be the big lie that fat, not sugar is the primary cause.

Timeline and Rise
• Late 1940s–1950s: Researchers published early studies connecting high-fat diets with elevated blood cholesterol and cardiovascular risks.
• 1960s: Health organizations and physicians began recommending low-fat eating patterns to the general public.
• Late 1970s–1980s: Formal government guidelines (such as early U.S. dietary goals) institutionalized the push to slash total and saturated fat. (Much of this was based on a study by a researcher named Ancel Keys, of 22 countries that showed a low fat diet was healthier than one that included a moderate amount of fat; the problem was he excluded 15 countries that didn't fit his theory).
• 1990s "Low-Fat Craze": The ideology peaked as manufacturers flooded grocery stores with "low-fat" or "fat-free" processed foods (like SnackWell's cookies), often replacing removed fat with added sugars and refined carbohydrates to preserve taste.
• The Paradox:
Despite widespread adherence to low-fat guidance during the 1980s and 1990s, national rates of obesity and type 2 diabetes climbed sharply. Critics and public health researchers later noted that replacing fats with refined carbohydrates and extra calories contributed to the unintended rise in weight gain.
• Consensus Shift: Major health institutions, including the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health, later characterized the rigid low-fat/high-carb push as a flawed public health experiment, leading to a modern emphasis on healthy, whole-food fats rather than strict fat-elimination.
What's missing from this information is it was done purposely by the sugar industry. IOW, we were had.
I cured myself of Diabetes Type 2 at least 14 years ago by changing my diet and not eating or drinking anything with sugar in it - yet my doctor prescribed GLP-1 injections for my previous Diabetes state and for a friend with weight issues.
After 6 months on GLP-1 injections, I began to lose my sight and to become totally blind. The condition became so bad I was referred to an eye specialist, but by then I had predetermined that the GLP-1 injection was probably the fault and I stopped injecting myself with it and over 2 years I recovered my full eye sight. I heard that some people go totally blind immediately and never recover their sight ever again, so I guess I was lucky.
My friend lost weight down to a plateau below which she could no longer go, but GLP-1 injections are for about 6 months, then you have to stop taking them, whereupon my friend put back all of the weight she had lost and much more besides - which so shattered her belief in herself, that she is almost totally bedridden now.
In my opinion, my doctor should never have prescribed me GLP-1 injections since I had my Diabetes in total control - or for my friend without warning her of what could happen when she had to stop taking it, regarding weight gain and more besides.
It seems to me that Big Pharma ordered my doctor to prescribe GLP-1 injections and he did what he was told to do, just like Covid vaccinations, for those willing to volunteer to have them.
Put very simply, I don't trust my doctor or Big Pharma to look after my health anymore - and I don't take any of the previously prescribed medication I was given anymore either, though that was my decision and so far, I seem better for it.
At days end, I believe my body heals itself as it has many times before and I don't need medications which prolong something I'm supposed to have wrong with me, that time will cure naturally, all by itself.
..."I don't trust my doctor or Big Pharma to look after my health anymore"...doctors were never trained to look after your health and Pig Pharma wants you unhealthy so they can market more "forever" drugs. The medical mafia has nothing to do with health and never has and never will.
Hi Crixcyon - I agree totally with you now, but I have had the medical conditioning my whole life long and I'm in my 80's now. so it has taken me far longer to understand what has been going on and condition myself to refuse all medications from a point several months ago - not including Covid vaccines which I refused to have from the outset, relying on my free salt water cure instead.
Let me put the above another way, some people question what they don't understand and stop doing what they don't understand until they have verification one way or the other - others never do, like Sheep they do whatever they are told, because it is easier that way (passing the Buck). When push comes to shove I can be a real prick.
Your heart muscle is part of that reduction of muscle mass. I vehemently dispute any info that glp-1 drugs are reducing heart disease. My husband took it for 2.5 years, I could see the muscle mass loss. June last year he had his GANGRENOUS gallbladder removed followed by a heart attack followed by sepsis. You can't tell me this shit is good for a body. And now he has regained all the weight he lost but isn't muscle but fat in its place. It has pretty much destroyed his life.
They are like statins and cholesterol lowering drugs, they change the numbers but don't get to the root of the problem. Good article, Sayer. Linking it today @https://nothingnewunderthesun2016.com/
There is also the fact that eating fatty foods does not directly result in cholesterol production. The level of cholesterol in your body is primarily determined by your genes, not your diet. However if you develop insulin resistance, your body has trouble using stored fat, instead it uses your intake of sugar almost exclusively, which can lead to excess storage of cholesterol in your blood and tissue. One of the problem with statin drugs is they don't just reduce cholesterol in your blood, they remove it from your entire body, including your brain which is primarily made up of cholesterol, all in the name of reaching a cholesterol blood level that is literally made up.
True, but - as evidenced by the fact that we have an ongoing obesity epidemic - many people are simply not capable of losing weight without help. In many cases this is because of hunger and cravings which the GLP-1s curb. I tell my patients on GLP-1s to use the medication to help them change the way they eat - switching to a whole, Paleo style diet and eliminating processed and sugary foods - and to establish a habit of eating less frequently rather than eating less. Then they can try weaning off the GLP-1s.
A ketogenic diet, while not for everyone, results in healthy weight loss, obliterates HTN and T2DM, and - I’m going out on a limb here - would likely reverse our escalating rates of Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Anecdotally, sensitivity to thyroid hormones also increase. Brains need fat.
Note that I am not suggesting that anyone with existing CV disease forgo their statins. But we should be looking at ways to prevent our continually rising rates of CV disease. If cholesterol was the culprit, our rates would decline. They’re not.
Thank-you again for the clear and reasoned thinking behind this - although it is obvious to some, many more are still in the grasp of the evil of big pharma and their allegedly medical foot soliders who sometime back stopped "doing no harm".
I was very lucky years ago when this was a diabetes drug. Against the wishes of my family doctor I went to a specialist who put me on this. He injected me once weekly and the injection sites swelled up significantly. After 6 weeks and 6 big welts that didn’t seem to be going away, I slunk back in to my GP’s office and never saw the specialist again. Bear in mind that the initial diabetes version had much lower levels of the drug in it than the weight loss version!
I have since stopped taking insulin, triglycerides medicine, and statins as they were prescribed primarily because I was diabetic, not because I needed them. The only one I still take is Metformin but I would love to get off that as well!
Relatedly, a March 2026 study touted by Deborah Birx showed a novel non-peptide GLP-1 receptor agonist causing 8% weight loss over 52 weeks.
But that is not as good as what a Paleo diet can do. A Paleo diet can cause 9% weight loss in 6 months, with almost 11% weight loss at 52 weeks (the diet was 35% better than taking a GLP-1 drug), and without the side effects.
Thank you Sayer, for the Truth about our Healthcare System in America. It’s taken decades but the we’re finally “coming about”! In the 90’s when I got out of Rehab, my mindset was get busy livin’ or get busy dying’. I started promoting 🌿 Herbl

Much Laughter.
When something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
And what is worse is they are bringing this in to treat our overweight pets. Vets are losing their minds to consider this in pets Unbelievable.
That’s crazy!

Seriously?! Good grief!! I hadn't heard that. That's horrific for both people and animals!

I'm sorry! That is so sad!
I couldn’t agree more . 💥The root cause is never discussed in detail with the patient sadly .
