Your solutions are often so expensive!! No way can I afgord even the discounted M'lux ~ okay okay, I'll do it the money-free way. I'll take a walk. Thank uou for the reminder. I'm just tired of $multi-100 or $multi-1000 solutions!
I imagine this post won’t concern others yet I shall continue… I am a 78 y/o female. 7 months ago I signed up for personal training and radically changed my diet removing significant LA and increasing protein. My lean muscle mass has increased, flexibility is returning along with balance, body fat decreased, visceral fat almost non existent. I imagine my bones are healthier as well. This article suggests this device can help woman. At 78 I assume I am well beyond hoping for increased female hormone benefits though even naturopathic doctors seem to want to push HRT. Is it all a scam? The ‘chat’ on the website only says it can’t offer medical advice and to discuss with my healthcare provider who, as we all know , still will tell you to stay out of the sun and put on sunscreen so asking about a treatment inviting the deadly rays would likely result in me being escorted from the practice. I have some savings but I basically live on $1440 per month in social security. Now I’ve learned that degenerative aging seems to have been a path I chose and was confirmed by the medical establishment I have swerved from that path I am open to finding new forks in the new road but spending precious resources for little or no gain is not a risk I can afford to take. Can anyone enlighten an ‘elder’?
Bravo Pamela! I’m so inspired by you 💕 where do you live … northern states or southern? Would love to hear more about the training you used — I’m in my 70’s and am interested in taking it to the next level.
I am in SW Florida near Englewood, Port Charlotte. I do have the benefit of lots of year round sun. Course in the summer when temps in the upper 90s with 90% humidity I tend to wuss out. My local diy fitness place was decent but I used the machines or aerobic machines without consistency. All of a sudden two brothers arrived and leased the space and offered individual training. It has changed everything for me. They started with easier exercising accommodating my body’s idiosyncrasies while determine my limits. and We have progressed to more weights, throwing in full body highly aerobic circuit exercises occasionally. They stress my body but don’t kill it. It’s amazing. In the beginning, after a workout I would think to myself, ‘this is gonna hurt tomorrow’. But instead I would be sitting that night reading and I noticed that my arms and legs and my joints just felt as if they wrapped warm soft blankets. Anyway. In additions to building obvious muscle, and loosing body fat, my cholesterol is down (I have always refused statins) and my triglycerides and LDL are also down. I have a-fib and over the last 7 months my episodes have dropped to near zero. My balance is amazingly better. And my fast-twitch muscles are awakening so I don’t have the worry so much in the back of my mind of falling if I trip. I have been working with ‘the the boys’ and other of their trainers for a little over 6 months. I didn’t think I could afford it (and really can’t) but the change in me has shown me that aging is very much as much a mental construct as a physical one.
I do. I always seem to have gravitated to smaller town living in my lifetime. My area here is like that. I refer to it as the stepchild of Florida. People more tend to drive thru here on their way to the ‘city’ life (many amenities) rather than as a destination. Love Sarasota. Love leaving it.
But I do miss getting away, for at least part of the summer/fall, to the Vermont area. Rentals too few and too expensive. We sold our house long ago and land we had in NH. Don’t miss the expense but long for the options they afforded. If you can keep that option open for yourself, I highly recommend.
Vermont is a beautiful place!!! Hmmm 🤔 we are considering selling our home in the North GA mountains to live a bit more carefree and “smaller” in FL. May I ask, do you regret moving to Florida full time? We have been splitting our time 8 months mountains 4 months beach and are tired of keeping up with two places. Our place in Florida is much smaller in a retirement community, so we are thinking of downsizing. Fully aware that summers are HOT … so thinking of traveling some during Aug/Sep. is it the hot weather you hate, or ???
Like winter in VT, the summers are survivable but it seems that 6 months could be shortened. No I don’t regret moving full time to Florida. Even though it’s hot and humid there is just something wonderful about seeing sun almost every day year round that energizes the soul. I discovered that if you get outside early enough, for say gardening or mowing (we diy) your body acclimates and you actually survive the outside pretty well on those days. (Plus they say sweat is good for you and the humidity is truly wonderful for aging flaky skin). Your plan and ability to travel in August/September is perfect. You are obviously aware of the hurricane potential so I think you might be ok to give it a try.
I have an infrared sauna with both near and far, would this UVB device be possible to install INSIDE the sauna that reaches temperatures over 45-50 celcius? Or would it be best used separately as trying to combine the time spent doing this?
Obviously, man has survived for thousands of years with the sun and not needing any supplements. We still don't know for sure how the sun keeps us healthy. I feel it is beneficial even on a winter day all bundled up to be outside with some sun. We still get sunlight on a cloudy day. This having to be in the sun under "exact" conditions is nonsense.
Exposure to sunlight is surely good in many ways, but UV-B causes sunburn and eye damage. Long-term high exposure will damage skin and greatly increase the risk of skin cancer, because it breaks molecular bonds in DNA.
We don't need UV-B to convert 7-dehydrocholesterol into vitamin D3 in our skin, since it is safer and easier to supplement vitamin D3 properly. 125 micrograms (5000 IU) vitamin D3 a day, on average, is a good amount for 70 kg (154 lb) body weight without obesity. To see how much to take, according to body weight and obesity status: https://vitamindstopscovid.info/00-evi/#00-how-much. These are the recommendations of New Jersey based Professor of Medicine, Sunil Wimalawansa.
The action of UV-B is to break one of the bonds in one of the carbon rings in 7-dehydrocholesterol. The resulting molecule is called "pre-vitamin D3". With thermal vibrations, of its own accord, it isomerizes one part twists with respect to the other at the single carbon-carbon bond (what remains of the broken ring), with one half of the molecule twisting around. It settles in this lower energy state. This is vitamin D3 cholecalciferol. This is hydroxylated, primarily in the liver to 25-hydroxyvitamin D, which is what is tested in so-called "vitamin D" blood tests.
Many doctors are happy with 20 ng/mL (50 nmol/L) circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D. This is enough to supply the kidneys, which maintain a very low level (0.05 to 0.10 ng/mL of circulating calcitriol, which acts as a hormone to affect the behaviour of several cell types all around the body which are involved in calcium-phosphate-bone metabolism. Most doctors don't know that the immune system can only work properly with 50 ng/mL (125 nmol/L) circulating 25-hydroxyvitamin D. Many types of immune cell need this for their intracrine and paracrine signaling systems, which have nothing to do with hormonal signaling, and which are crucial to the ability of individual cells to respond to their changing circumstances. See: https://vitamindstopscovid.info/00-evi/#02-compounds.
Vitamin D3 cholecalciferol (or the less effective, unnatural, vitamin D2 ergocalciferol) is not a hormone. Nor is 25-hydroxyvitamin D3 (or the D2 version). The third compound, calcitriol (1,25-dihydroxyvitamin D3) has one hormonal function, but all its other functions are as an intracrine agent or a paracrine agent. These signaling systems are not related to endocrine (hormonal) signalling. See a detailed discussion of this common error in my comments in response to https://sayerji.substack.com/p/the-most-powerful-supplement-on-earth/comment/188900657.
I have told my patient for years after checking their vitamin D levels that they need supplementation. The usual answer is oh, I’m out in the sun a lot I get plenty of vitamin D. My response is “unless you live at the equator and work outside with your shirt off, you’re not getting enough vitamin D from the sun“
Hi Pamela, I'm 62, my health is a wreck. I eat a high protein, whole foods, lowcarb diet, don't eat processed foods or any type of sugars like Honey,Maple syrup etc because I'm Diabetic. I have moderately severe Psoriatic Arthritis (it's simular to Rheumatoid Arthritis) and both knees need replacing. My struggle is that I unfortunately live in a highrise that allows zero access to sunlight, unless I leave the building. That in itself is a huge ordeal & very painful so I haven't left my apartment since June 3, 2025. I take VitD3 in Olive oil but it's really very inadequate regardless of the dose. I also live well above 35° latitude, I'm in the Seattle area. To your question, not being able to afford this device. You do have a lot of access to the sun during the UVB hours of (10am ~ 2pm) but you only need 10 ~ 20 minutes to get what you need. If it’s too hot, what I would do it set up a chair or lounge chair, buy a specially made sun umbrella, they're about $50, they actually protect you from the excessive heat as well as the sun's rays. I'd have my Electrolyte water to drink, a cool bucket of water for my feet to keep me cool and I'd do like 3-5 minutes at a time then cool off under the umbrella for a bit and so on until I got my 20 minutes of sun exposure. You also need to wear a bathing suit, or bathing suit top & shorts so most of your skin is exposed. Do half your time sunning the front half to the sun then turn your back to the sun. That way your not just torching the front part. During this I might also wear a hat to protect face & eyes especially from 11am-2pm. Your eyes do need the suns rays but it's light from the Sunrise and Sunset rays, you look in the direction of the rising or setting sun but NEVER directing into the sun. The only issue I see you having is that Florida has been experiencing Sun Ray blocking from geo-engineering from DARPA & possibly other groups. I have no idea why the Trump administration is allowing this to continue, or why DeSantis hasn't put his foot down. The other alternative is to get a credit card that will give you interest free for a year & buy it that way, that's what I did, otherwise I'm going to die before I can leave this Damn building! I HATE the city! Good luck to you! You inspire me to get off my fanny and get to work, you're doing fantastic! If you aren't doing it already, I encourage you to lift weights, it's a total myth that older men & women can't build muscle and muscle is so important for everyone at every age. God bless you ❤️
I ordered one because I was diagnosed with osteopenia; it should be interesting to see if I can get a positive result. I live in Melbourne, which is very far south and we see the sun once a week in winter if we are lucky
I had a close relative who never went outside except to walk about 10 feet from her door to her car. I berated her for this but she insisted taking vitamin D was just as good as going outside (which I doubt). She ended up having her spine replaced because it was so crooked….it took 5 surgeries over about 4 years.
Millions of years. You're crazy. Or rather, you have no evidence. And if you believe that, who knows what other crazy thing you believe. I want facts. Not STUPID suppositions.

their are UV LIGHTS USED TOkeep snakes and other reptiles very healthy.... if its good for them must be good for us and its like a 50$ solution
Look at the Hooga pro 300 good reviews on amazon

You say you’ve increased protein in your diet and you’ve removed LA, what are you referring to as LA?
Linoleic acid. Very high in ultraprocessed foods and processed seed oils (canola, sunflower oil, etc)
Thank you!

Still waiting for delivery, tracking lost it last week, asked Mitolux 3 days ago, they haven't given an update since then.

I'm wondering if this can help de-sexed pets (those without sex organs).
Midday sunlight on skin also causes the the production of hydrogen peroxide in cells which is then used to clean things up.
How long do you use this a day and in regards to testosterone, would it work more effectively if it illuminated below the waist?
