Again I say it: Mahatma Ji. This is holistic and spiritualized science. Sayer has a 40,000 ft view of things from above as well as a 40,000 foot view from within. This essay should be required reading in all introductory science classes. It gives me hope that we are indeed moving as a race toward a true understanding of nature and our place within it. THANK YOU, SAYER!

I’m writing a book on intergenerational illness and your microchimerism essay stopped me cold. I’d like to reference your work and quote briefly from ‘The Compassion of Matter.’ Would you be willing?

It occurred to me the tight combat/foxhole concept of military relationships may be formed by the vagal/oxytocin compassion loop. You are amazing in your didactic approach, Sayer. Great respect!

I love the way you pull threads from many sources to weave a beautiful tapestry that holds truth, warmth and compassion. It inspires belief, gives hope and heals. The way you detail difficult concepts into tangible analogies that resonate as knowing, is a delight to read. Keep making sense, keep writing and thank you for sharing your wisdom. The part about my heart having my children inside me, literally warmed my heart. Love is compassion in motion. Thank you.

hmm the return of the Goddess started in the early 1970's. Also the 3 "Wise-men" brought to Christ: Frankincense, Myrrh and Tumeric!!

Thank you Sayer! This is so beautifully stated and researched.

Just wanted to add something I'm sure you know to the Mother's milk - the pre-milk, colostrum carrying all the Mother's history of her immune responses for the years to come.

I feel I also have part of my sister in me. I only found out many years into my adulthood that mum had gone to her much older sister for a herbal abortion because mum and dad were still living in a tent at the time while building a cottage on their farm in then Rhodesia. But she got pregnant very quickly again and dad kept a close eye on her to ensure she did not do that again. So here I am perhaps with something of her within me as i always felt her somehow. She had 3 sons a few years later... twins born in Ireland then the last in England.

I really enjoy the discussion of compassion. What does this mean when children become estranged?

It popped into my head that, when I hear biologic discussions of compassion, I often hear of the mirror neurons.

Also came to mind Ivan Illich's discussion of the Good Samaritan parable. Illich's describes a physical experience, from the gut even, when the Samaritan moves to the aid of the hurt man.

You draw much from certain traditions, and it would be interesting to explore what might be reflected in others. I'll look to the other writing you mentioned.
