This was done to me in 1966 at the age of 13. It was barbaric. I was in a psychiatric hospital on the teen ward in Illinois. I don't know why they did it. I will never know why. But the pain is seismic and afterwards I ran down the long corridor of the hospital and smashed into the wall at the end in a heap. My memory is fragmented and a brain scan years later showed lesions in my brain. I hate even thinking about it. I forgot so much. But this maligned "treatment" is unforgettable. I never knew they still did this to people.
