My husband had bypass heart surgery in December. The hospital sent him home with 23 prescriptions; we started his healing process by throwing away Jardiance (he was also diagnosed with type 2 diabetes), the statins, and replaced them vitamins and supplements. Within a week, we got rid of the rest of the prescriptions. He's on a keto diet and no Pharma products and doing well.
Great information, thank you! I will focus on your protocol for hormones as I have adrenal fatigue and have yet to figure out what works best for me, although I believe the origin of all my health issues is the gut. Sadly, I’ve taken too many antibiotics in my life and have IBS-D, probably leaky gut as well. I’ve tried so many things that haven’t worked. I hope you might share some of your expertise on gut issues.
Our bodies are regenerating all our cells at a rather fast pace: liver 2 months, RBC's every 4 months, brain cholesterol 10 months, eye macula 2 days, skin 6 weeks, etc. Our bodies require 60 minerals, 16 vitamins and 14 amino/fatty acids. The soil is deprived of many of these nutrients and has dropped up to 90% for many of the nutrients since 1914 based on USDA data. Add in toxic glyphosate (roundup) it is a perfect storm for malnutrition. I am surprised that iodine was not mentioned since it is required for every cell in our body and for our immune system. It is also required for cells that secrete; thyroid, salivary glands, breasts, pancreas, ovaries and prostate. If the cells can't secrete we have blockage, polyps/cysts/fibroids. When that happens blood flow can be restricted and reduction in oxygen and cellular polarity reversal.
Thank you for your extensive article database on Greenmed Info. It would be amazing if every community had healing centers where these items and vital information could be easily found. America has a long way to go to be healthy again, but your work is helping pave the way.
As a clinically trained yoga therapist w 20+yrs experience and a lifelong pursuer og herbal knowledge who’s recently been “formally trained”. I have been studying this line of inquiry a long time and butting my head against the medical profession to have this discussion for too long. I left clinical work with chronic pain patients years ago, as it limited the scope of discussion and the studies you mention.
In order to get chronic illness and inflammation managed, my daughter and I pursued our own education in metabolic and genetics based care. In college and on our own, guided by specialists.
My family now has a better grasp of health and wellbeing. I’m thankful you put this all into a concise document with citations. This line of work, the research is something we have been collecting for years while managing health issues that the medical community could not.
Part of why it’s difficult to discuss food as medicine, is how far our food today is from real food. Much of GRAS (gen regarded as safe) are molecules that cells, electron gaited membranes and processes cannot address without mutating. They are in our air, our water, and our food. But it’s not a death sentence. We can heal.
We can have foods the body recognizes and incorporates through proper cellular functions; into healthy proteins, tissues, and metabolic messengers to ensure their efficacious associated function. Synthetic and otherwise manipulated molecules have been proven to be problematic for a growing number of people which is increasing from one generation to the next as we increase our collective exposures.
The path to health is healing the land and our broken food system which has been challenged by the infinite growth model of industrialization. To do this we need to value farms, farmers, and clean; not just novel, foods. We must choose to no longer contribute to the toxic load of environmental toxins in the air, soil, and water that creates negative generational impacts for so many due to the compounding levels of toxic exposures from proximity, lack of access to government protections, and malfeasance.
All of these studies listed, in this well researched article have merit, but it’s only one side of the coin. We also need remediation of harm. With greater access to these (often “novel” but certainly indigenous) foods; along with transparency, as to how they are grown and produced. Then we can create greater access to a variety of healing clean foods.
Real food heals! Our bodies are designed to heal! It takes time and effort in the kitchen and purchasing the highest quality food and spices from reputable markets but the payoff is worth the efforts!
